100 years of service to nation was our duty, so no celebration is needed: RSS Chief

Gandhinagar: Sarsanghchalak of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, Mohan Bhagwat who is on a visit to Gujarat today met Acharya Mahashramanji at the Preksha Vishwa Bharati Dhyan Kendra in Koba. Addressing the program organized on this occasion, he said, “I come here every year to recharge my energies. The foundation of both personal character and national character is morality, and the basis of morality is spirituality, because without spirituality, morality has no meaning. That is why I visit such places, where I gain the strength needed for the work I am engaged in.”

He added that even in the everyday life of India, inspiration comes from traditional spiritual teachings. Referring to the teachings of non-violence of Acharya Mahashramanji, Bhagwat said that if we adopt the vision of “Sabme Main Hun Aur Sab Mujme Hai” (“I am in all, and all is in me”), social violence will cease.

With the completion of the Sangh’s 100th year, Bhagwat said the organization’s workers felt the need to engage society through programs that foster goodwill, which in turn would strengthen morality. “Therefore, no grand celebrations are planned for the centenary year. Having completed 100 years of service to the nation is our duty, and for that there is no need for celebration,” he said.

Instead, a program called Panch Parivartan has been conceptualized, comprising five key areas:

  • Family Education

  • Social Harmony

  • Environmental Protection

  • Civic Duty

  • Self-based Life (Swadeshi)

He further stated that volunteers have already begun incorporating these principles into their practices. During the centenary year, the volunteers will engage with society to demonstrate these values and strive to increase the number of people following this path, thereby fostering unity within the community.
