Palanpur Customer Sets Ola Electric Scooter on Fire outside the company showroom

Palanpur: Frustrated by poor service, a customer set his Ola Electric scooter on fire outside the company’s showroom in Palanpur.

According to the customer, Sahil Kumar, the steering of his e-scooter had detached, and the company neither repaired it nor provided a satisfactory response. This prompted him to set the scooter on fire, which was completely destroyed in the blaze.

Sahil Kumar told the media that he was going shopping on his e-scooter with his wife and five-year-old son when the front steering and tire connection detached, causing them to fall. Fortunately, no serious injuries occurred as they were moving at a very low speed. He later reported the issue to the showroom, but the company refused responsibility and asked him to take the scooter for servicing in Deesa. His request for a safer replacement was also denied.

Frustrated with the lack of a satisfactory response and concerned about potential accidents in the future, Sahil decided to set the ₹1.5 lakh e-scooter on fire, completely destroying it.

This is not the first time such an incident involving an Ola EV has come to light. Earlier, a video had gone viral on social media showing another customer setting fire to an Ola scooter, also citing poor service.

In another post, a customer shared pictures of an Ola service center where hundreds of Ola scooters were parked awaiting servicing. The customer wrote about the long delays and poor service. “My Ola scooter AP39MX4001 has been under repair for 2 months now. No clear updates, no resolution… See the pathetic situation at service centre, all EV are struck due to spare parts not providing timely, he wrote in X post. DeshGujarat
