PM Modi to inaugurate, lay foundation stones for ₹5,477-crore projects during Gujarat visit on Aug 25–26

Gandhinagar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Gujarat for a two-day tour on August 25 and 26, 2025. Sharing details of the Prime Minister’s visit, spokesperson Minister Rushikesh Patel said that during this visit, he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for various development projects worth ₹5,477 crore for Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, and Mehsana. On August 25, the Prime Minister will attend a program at Khodaldham Ground in Nikol, Ahmedabad, and launch development works across the three cities under multiple departments.
The departments involved include Railways (₹1,404 crore), Urban Development (₹2,548 crore), Energy and Petrochemicals (₹1,122 crore), Roads and Buildings (₹307 crore), and Revenue (₹96 crore).
It is noteworthy that since the Government of Gujarat has declared 2025 as the “Year of Urban Development,” these projects aim to enhance the convenience and welfare of the state’s citizens.
Ahmedabad to receive development projects worth ₹3,125 crore
The Prime Minister will inaugurate projects worth ₹2,209 crore and lay foundation stones for projects worth ₹916 crore in Ahmedabad. He will inaugurate a ₹608 crore electricity distribution project under UGVCL aimed at upgrading and expanding the city’s power distribution system.
Other inaugurations include development of slum areas under the PM Awas Yojana (Urban) ISSR component at Sector-3, Ramapir Tekro; the 66kV Gota Substation; 66kV Chandkheda-2 Substation; and the Viramgam Khuddad Road (Km 0/00 to 21/400).
Foundation stone ceremonies will also cover the construction and five-year operation and maintenance of stormwater drainage systems for Shela, Manipur, Godhavi, Sanathal, and Telav; development of lawns with street furniture in Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation; redevelopment of the four-lane Asarva Railway Overbridge between Sabarmati and Ahmedabad Station; and construction of a mini sports complex in Saraspur Ward of the southwest zone.
The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone for the Stamp and Registration Bhavan in Ahmedabad (West). Additionally, Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority (AUDA) will upgrade four-lane major roads to six lanes in two phases under the Hybrid Annuity Model, with controlled access designed according to expressway standards for speed and safety. The project also includes a 32 km four-lane service road and a 30 km three-lane service road, with a total project cost of ₹1,624 crore aimed at improving traffic capacity and infrastructure around Ahmedabad.
Gandhinagar to receive development projects worth ₹555 crore
The Prime Minister will also inaugurate and lay foundation stones for development projects worth ₹555 crore in Gandhinagar. He will inaugurate a ₹178 crore electricity distribution project under UGVCL. Water supply lines in Pethapur and Randheja, and sewerage and drainage systems in Dabhoda village under GUDA will also be inaugurated. Other foundation stone ceremonies include the construction of a state-level data storage center, a parallel road alongside the Metro Rail from Dholakuva to Pancheshwar Circle, and installation of stormwater and sewerage lines in various areas.
Mehsana to receive railway projects worth over ₹1,400 crore
The Prime Minister will inaugurate projects worth a total of ₹1,796 crore and flag off two trains in Mehsana. He will inaugurate electricity distribution projects under UGVCL. Among railway projects worth over ₹1,400 crore are:

Doubling of the Mehsana-Palanpur railway line (65 km) at a cost of ₹537 crore

Gauge conversion of the Kalol-Kadi-Katosan railway line (37 km) at a cost of ₹347 crore

Gauge conversion of the Becharaji-Ranuj railway line (40 km) at a cost of ₹520 crore
These railway projects will provide seamless, safe, and broad-gauge connectivity to northern Gujarat districts such as Mehsana, Banaskantha, and Patan.
Prime Minister’s roadshow route
During the visit, he will hold a roadshow from Haridarshan Circle → Union Bank Chowk → Mango Cinema Chowk → Sabha Sthal in Ahmedabad.
