Plastic and Thermocol banned in Ambaji Bhadarvi Poonam Fair 2025

Ambaji: The famous Bhadarvi Poonam Mahamela will be held at Ambaji Temple from September 1 to September 7, attracting lakhs of devotees from across the country. To ensure the safety and well-being of pilgrims, authorities have announced a complete ban on the use of plastic and thermocol during the fair.
Every year, the Ambaji temple fair sees massive gatherings, making it one of the largest religious events in Gujarat. With heavy footfall expected this year as well, the district administration and health authorities have issued strict safety and cleanliness guidelines.
Officials informed that use of plastic bags, cups, and thermocol items has been prohibited to maintain hygiene and prevent environmental hazards. Devotees and vendors have been instructed to follow eco-friendly practices.
The state government and local administration have also set up special arrangements for managing the huge crowd, ensuring smooth traffic movement, and providing medical assistance.
Guidelines for Service Camps
Authorities have also released detailed instructions for those setting up service camps (seva kendra) during the fair:

Service camps must be set up at least 30 feet away from the main road.

Concerned official’s approval is mandatory to set up service camps.

No speed-breaker construction or blocking of roads allowed.

Dustbins are must at the service camps and cleanliness is required to be maintained.

Separate arrangement for dry and wet waste.
