Digital lounge with airport-like facilities to come up at Surat railway station
May 19, 2025
Surat: A state-of-the-art digital lounge, similar to those at airports, will be developed at Surat railway station. Along with Surat, digital lounges are also planned at Mumbai Central, Borivali, and Vadodara railway stations.
The upcoming lounge at the station will have seating arrangements for 40 passengers at a time and will be equipped with facilities like Wi-Fi and mobile charging stations, offering an office-like environment for travellers.
Plans are already underway, with space identified for the digital lounge at Surat railway station. It is learnt that a proposal has been prepared and will soon be sent to senior railway authorities for approval. While digital lounges at other stations will accommodate 20 people, Surat’s will be larger, with seating for 40, keeping the large footfall of passengers in mind.
The initiative aims to offer a professional, workspace-like setting for passengers travelling for business purposes, enabling them to carry out office tasks comfortably while waiting for their train. DeshGujarat
