Ahmedabad: Now you can have snacks at the cost starting from only Rs. 20 at the Ahmedabad airport. Union Minister for Civil Aviation Ram Mohan Naidu inaugurated the Udan Yatri Café at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International (SVPI) Airport in Ahmedabad. Notably, this is the first private café at an airport in the country. Such cafes earlier have been opened at Kolkata and Chennai airports.
The menu of Udan Yatri Cafe at Ahmedabad airport includes Water bottle for Rs. 10, Tea for Rs. 10, Coffee for Rs. 20, Samosa for Rs. 20, Vada for Rs. 20 and Sweet of the day for Rs. 20 only. This brings a great relief for passengers travelling from SVPI airport, as recently one passenger had tweeted the picture of very high prices of food items available here. The tweeted photograph had gone viral.
Speaking at the event, the Union Civil Aviation Minister stated that the Udan Yatri Café has been launched to provide passengers with high-quality food at pocket-friendly prices. This initiative will not only enhance the travel experience of passengers but also contribute to the country’s economic growth. Under the ambitious Udan Yatri Café scheme, essential items such as tea, coffee, and snacks will be available at affordable rates, similar to railway stations. The scheme will be expanded in phases to various airports across the country.
He further emphasized that this initiative marks a significant milestone in the government’s efforts to enhance passenger amenities at airports. The newly opened Udan Yatri Café, located in the check-in hall of Terminal 1 (domestic departure), will offer snacks starting at just ₹10. The initiative aims to make airport meals more affordable while maintaining quality. The launch of the café is part of a broader strategy to modernize airport infrastructure, ensuring that air travel becomes a viable option for more people.
With the opening of the Udan Yatri Café, passengers at Ahmedabad Airport can now enjoy high-quality snacks at reasonable prices, aligning with the government’s mission to make flying more accessible and enjoyable. This initiative highlights the airport’s commitment to providing affordable, high-quality services, significantly improving passenger satisfaction and convenience.
