Jal-Thal-Raksha 2025: Indian Army Holds Military Exercise at Bet Dwarka, Gujarat

Dwarka: Efforts are continuously being made to strengthen coastal security and protect strategic islands along the western coast of Gujarat. Earlier, illegal encroachments were removed from these areas, and now a military exercise named ‘Jal-Thal-Raksha 2025’ was conducted at Bet Dwarka. The large-scale drill saw participation from the Indian Army’s Ahmedabad-based 11 Infantry Division, Jamnagar-based 31 Infantry Brigade, the Coast Guard, and the Marine Police.

Retired Lt Col Amol Awate briefed the media about the exercise and said, “In light of the security concerns for Dwarka and its nearby islands and the recent illegal encroachments, the Indian Army organized the Jal-Thal-Shakti Exercise 2025. Units from the Ahmedabad-based 11 Infantry Division, Jamnagar-based 31 Infantry Brigade, the Coast Guard, and Marine Police participated. The exercise was monitored by the District Administration of Devbhoomi Dwarka, Forest Department, Maritime Board of Gujarat Energy, and NSG. The exercise was conducted to practice how the district administration, paramilitary forces, and defense forces should coordinate during a terrorist attack or war.”

A video from the exercise showed security personnel being deployed to the coast, where they practiced securing critical infrastructure and responding to potential land-based threats. DeshGujarat
