January 22, 2025
Vadodara: Barodians were enthralled by the Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team of the Indian Air Force when it performed its first airshow of 2025 on Tuesday. The airshow continued today, with nine Hawk Mk132 aircraft taking off from Darjipura Air Force Station and displaying their formations in the sky, leaving the audience spellbound.
During today’s show, for the first time in 14 years, the Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team performed a tricolor display. A huge crowd had gathered at the Panjarapol Ground, opposite National Highway 48, ahead of the air show. Even before the show started, the large number of people caused traffic jams on the route from Ajwa to Golden Chowkdi in the city.
14 pilots flying nine Hawks displayed aerial maneuvers for about 40 minutes. The air show was marked by maneuvers such as loops, rolls, head-on crosses, buzzes, and inverted flying, ensuring that the audience would long remember the performance. The most impressive was the famous DNA Maneuver, where five planes flew in tandem to create a helix-shaped structure in the sky.
The dates for the next air force show are Jamnagar on January 25-26, 2025, Nalia on January 29, 2025, and Bhuj from January 31, 2025, to February 1, 2025.
