Porbandar: 100s of people of Porbandar dressed in black cloths held protest rally to oppose the State government’s plan to lay a deep sea pipeline off Porbandar coast for discharge of the chemical liquid generated by the saree making factories in Jetpur. Those associated with fisheries join the rally which started from Narsang tekri. The protestors opined that the deep sea pollution discharge pipeline project must be dropped. If polluted liquid of Jetpur is released in deep sea, it will impact fish population significantly and affect the livelyhood of fishermen of Porbandar and nearby areas. The protest march ended at Indreshwar Mahadev mandir based crematorium. DeshGujarat
