3 more illegal Bangladeshi immigrants nabbed in Bharuch
October 08, 2025
Bharuch: The police have arrested three Bangladeshi nationals who had been living illegally in India for several years. These individuals had entered India through infiltration years ago and were residing in the Amod and Ankleshwar areas for over two decades. Their suspicious movements recently alerted the police, prompting an investigation that confirmed their Bangladeshi citizenship.
The Special Operations Group (SOG) detained two of them — identified as Ilhai Manik Shana and Rohima Ilhai Manik Shana — from Amod, where they had been living for the last 21 years. They were residing in a house on Darbari Road owned by Yakub Patel. During interrogation, the duo admitted to entering India through Kolkata before moving to Delhi and then settling in Gujarat. The third Bangladeshi national had entered India via Kolkata, then traveled through Goa before reaching Bharuch, where she had been living for the past five months.
Upon verifying their documents, the police confirmed that all three were Bangladeshi citizens and arrested them under relevant legal provisions. Authorities are also investigating whether they were involved in any other offences during their stay in India. These arrests come just days after three women were detained in Ankleshwar for illegal stay. DeshGujarat
