President Murmu to visit Gujarat; to offer prayers at Somnath, Dwarka

New Delhi: President Droupadi Murmu is scheduled to embark on a two-day official visit to Gujarat on October 10 and 11. During her stay, she will participate in several significant events, including the convocation ceremony at Gujarat Vidyapith and a visit to the famous Dwarkadhish temple in Dwarka. Her itinerary also involves attending programs in Jamnagar and other regions.

As per reports, the President will reach Somnath in Prabhas Patan on October 10, where she will perform pooja and darshan at the first of the 12 Jyotirlingas, Somnath Mahadev. She will also participate in the flag hosting ritual at the temple. The district administration has started preparations for the visit of the first citizen of the country. President Murmu will also take a tour of Sasan Gir, the home of Asiatic lions.

On October 11, President Murmu is expected to grace the convocation ceremony at Gujarat Vidyapith as the chief guest, where notable dignitaries and students will be present. Prior to reaching Ahmedabad, she is expected to perform special prayers at the Dwarkadhish temple—one of Gujarat’s most revered pilgrimage sites—highlighting the spiritual and cultural significance of her visit.
