Fire breaks out in SVP Hospital complex in Ahmedabad
October 06, 2025
Ahmedabad: A fire broke out in the laundry department of the SVP Hospital complex located in the Ellisbridge area of the city on Monday morning. The fire was brought under control and did not spread to the hospital building. No patients were evacuated, and once the blaze was contained, hospital staff and patients breathed a sigh of relief.
According to fire officials, the department received a call around 9 a.m. reporting the incident at SVP Hospital. Three fire tenders from the Navrangpura Fire Station, along with officers, reached the location immediately. The blaze was controlled before it could spread further. Preliminary findings suggest that the fire may have originated from an electrical duct line passing near the laundry section, possibly due to a short circuit. However, a detailed probe is underway.
This incident comes a day after a fire broke out at Vrundavan Children’s Hospital near Paldi crossroads in Ahmedabad. The fire, which started in a consulting room, caused panic as smoke quickly spread through the complex. Staff and locals promptly rescued 16 people, including eight children, to safety. DeshGujarat
