Rain, Thunderstorms Forecast Across Gujarat: IMD Issues Seven-Day Weather Outlook including Yellow Alert Days

Gandhinagar, October 4, 2025: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast widespread rainfall and thunderstorms across Gujarat, Daman, Diu, and Dadra & Nagar Haveli over the next seven days, with varying intensity across regions. The bulletin issued on Saturday evening highlights the impact of Severe Cyclonic Storm “Shakhti” over the northeast Arabian Sea, which is expected to influence weather conditions until mid-October.
Synoptic Situation
According to IMD, the line of withdrawal of the southwest monsoon currently passes through Veraval, Bharuch, Ujjain, Jhansi, Shahjahanpur, and 30°N/81°E.
Cyclonic storm Shakthi was centered around 22.0°N and 64.5°E, approximately 470 km west of Dwarka and Naliya, and 420 km southwest of Karachi (Pakistan). It is likely to move west-southwestwards till October 5 before recurving east-northeastwards and weakening gradually.

Citizens are urged to remain alert, especially in Valsad, Navsari, Surat, Jamnagar, and Daman regions, where heavy rainfall warnings are in place.
