Ahmedabad, October 4: The Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority (AUDA) has announced the completion and operational readiness of the new Kathwada Auditorium, a landmark public facility constructed at a total cost of ₹39.70 crore under Town Planning Scheme No. 110, Final Plot No. 83, in the Kathwada area of the city.

The project aims to provide the residents of the Nikol–Kathwada and surrounding areas with a state-of-the-art venue for social, cultural, and community functions, bridging the gap for modern event spaces in the rapidly developing eastern zone of Ahmedabad.

Architectural and Functional Features

Designed by HCP Design, Planning & Management Pvt. Ltd. and executed by Katira Construction Ltd., the project was managed by Geo Design as the Project Management Consultant (PMC).

• Plot Area: 9,300 sq. m.

• Parking Area: 5,769 sq. m. (110 four-wheelers and 56 two-wheelers)

• Auditorium Hall: 1,052 seating capacity

• Banquet Hall & Multipurpose Hall: 450 persons each

• Green Room: 20-person capacity

• Structure Type: R.C.C. Frame Structure

• Facilities: HVAC, fire-fighting system, modern lighting, toilets, service areas, VIP lounge, kitchen, green rooms, basement parking, and lifts

• Basement: Parking, underground water tank, pump room, and storage

• Ground Floor: Banquet hall, pre-function area, reception office, kitchen, toilets, service room, two lifts, and staircases

• First & Second Floors: Auditorium hall, VIP lounge, green room, and service rooms

Rental and Deposit Rates for Auditorium Use

Additional Rules & Conditions:

• The premises must be vacated within 60 minutes of lease expiry. Failure to vacate within 30 minutes will attract a 55% penalty on rent.

• Deposits may be forfeited for overstaying beyond permitted hours.

• Government-recognized schools and colleges will receive a 25% discount upon submitting a valid certificate.

• Booking of all three shifts on the same day qualifies for a 10% rent discount.

• For commercial events, double the rental rate will be charged.

• GST as applicable must be paid in addition to rent.

• Dining facility charges: ₹10,000 per shift for kitchen usage.

• Additional non-refundable fees apply for soda or beverage use.

Safety & Administration

For security, CCTV cameras have been installed throughout the auditorium and surrounding premises. The management and maintenance of the facility will be overseen by departments including Administration, Engineering, Solid Waste, Lighting, Garden, Security, and Coordination, as per AMC’s Circular No. 01/2025-27 dated 13/03/2025.

AUDA officials emphasized that the Kathwada Auditorium represents a major step toward enhancing civic amenities and community infrastructure in Ahmedabad’s eastern corridor — combining traditional public use with modern architectural standards.
