Gandhinagar: After two days of heavy rain in many parts of Gujarat, conditions subsided today with only a few talukas receiving showers in the morning. However, clouds of heavy rain still hover over some coastal areas of Saurashtra and Kutch. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow warning for heavy rain and thunderstorms for the next three days, till October 2.

Additionally, a yellow warning for light thunderstorms with lightning and surface winds of 30–40 kmph, accompanied by light to moderate rain, has been issued for isolated places in the districts of Banaskantha, Patan, Mehsana, Sabarkantha, Gandhinagar, Aravalli, Kheda, Ahmedabad, Anand, Mahisagar, Bharuch, Surat, Navsari, Valsad, Daman, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Surendranagar, Rajkot, Jamnagar, Porbandar, Junagadh, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Morbi, Dwarka, Gir Somnath, Botad, Kutch, and Diu on both days.
On October 2, heavy rain is very likely at isolated places in parts of Saurashtra-Kutch, namely Jamnagar, Porbandar, Junagadh, Morbi, Dwarka, and Kutch.
Furthermore, a yellow warning for light thunderstorms with lightning and surface winds of 30–40 kmph, accompanied by light to moderate rain, has also been issued for isolated places across all districts of Saurashtra-Kutch, including Surendranagar, Rajkot, Jamnagar, Porbandar, Junagadh, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Morbi, Dwarka, Gir Somnath, Botad, Kutch, and Diu.
After that, light to moderate rainfall is likely across Gujarat from October 3 to 6.
This comes as the withdrawal of the monsoon has stalled over the past few days, with several weather systems active across the country, bringing rainfall to many states.
