Devbhoomi Dwarka: Jamkhambhaliya police have nabbed three individuals for allegedly carrying out religious conversion activities in a house in the Shaktinagar area. The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) uncovered the racket, where members of tribal communities were reportedly being coerced into converting to Christianity, and informed the police.
The accused include a couple from Nepal, identified as Deepak Bishwakarma and his wife Deepaben Deepak Bishwakarma, along with another individual from Madhya Pradesh. They are alleged to have propagated Christianity and coerced tribal people from Madhya Pradesh and the Godhra region into conversion by offering financial incentives. Police have registered a case and launched further investigations into the matter.
Kiranben B. Sarapdadiya, Vice President of the VHP, stated, “Around 30 people from Godhra and Madhya Pradesh, coming from poor and uneducated backgrounds, were present at the site where religious conversion activities were taking place. We reached there and informed the police. During the search, a significant amount of literature promoting religious conversion was recovered. Investigations are ongoing, and there are suspicions that Christian missionaries may have funded these activities.” DeshGujarat
