PM Modi Flags Off Gujarat’s First Amrit Bharat Train

Surat: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today flagged off the first-ever Amrit Bharat Train for Gujarat from Odisha. The inaugural run of the train, connecting Berhampur in Odisha and Udhna (Surat) in Gujarat, was flagged off from both stations, with Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw present in Surat.

The Amrit Bharat Express is a technologically advanced train, designed to serve long-distance passengers with enhanced amenities, improved safety, and a modern travel experience at affordable fares. With locomotives at both ends in a push-pull configuration, the train ensures faster acceleration, reduced travel time, and a smoother, more comfortable ride.

According to a press release by Vineet Abhishek, Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, the details of the train’s regular service following today’s inaugural run are as follows:

Train No. 19021/19022 Udhna – Berhampur Amrit Bharat Express (Weekly):

  • Train No. 19021 Udhna – Berhampur Amrit Bharat Express will depart from Udhna every Sunday at 07:10 hrs and reach Berhampur at 13:55 hrs the next day. This service will commence from 5th October 2025.

  • Train No. 19022 Berhampur – Udhna Amrit Bharat Express will depart from Berhampur every Monday at 23:45 hrs and reach Udhna at 08:45 hrs on Wednesday. This service will commence from 6th October 2025.

En route, the train will halt at Bardoli, Vyara, Navapur, Nandurbar, Dondaicha, Sindkheda, Amalner, Dharangaon, Jalgaon, Bhusaval, Malkapur, Akola, Badnera, Wardha, Nagpur, Gondia, Durg, Raipur, Mahasamund, Khariar Road, Kantabanji, Titlagarh, Kesinga, Muniguda, Rayagada, Parvatipuram, Bobbili, Vizianagaram, Srikakulam Road, and Palasa stations in both directions. The train comprises Sleeper Class and General Second Class coaches.
