Ex-security manager among five held for theft at Bullet Train project site in Surat

Surat: The local police have arrested five individuals involved in two separate thefts at the construction site of the Ahmedabad-Mumbai Bullet Train project in the Sachin area.

According to officials, the gang stole valuable construction materials, including plates, bolts, and expensive springs imported from a Japanese company, with a total value of Rs. 3.52 lakh from the bullet train project site. Additionally, the same group targeted the site of a nearby company, stealing rods worth Rs. 1.80 lakh. In total, the gang made away with items valued at over Rs. 5 lakh.

A shocking revelation from the investigation is that the main accused had previously worked as a security manager at the bullet train project. Leveraging his prior position and intimate knowledge of the project’s security systems, he played a key role in planning and executing the theft.

Police have arrested all five accused: Sahid Sajid Pathan, Mohammad Sahezad Sajid Abdul Pathan, Sahil Sajid Pathan, Sahil Faruk Sheikh, Said Mahebub Pathan, and Mohammad Hanif Nizamuddin Saiyed.
