Stray Dog Menace: Seven Injured in Kosamba, Five in Pavi-Jetpur

Kosamba: Residents of Kosamba in Mangrol taluka are living in fear as stray dog attacks have escalated in the area. Over the past two days, seven people, including a Panchayat member, have been attacked.

On Monday, five-year-old Mohammad Shehzad, returning from tuition alone, was surrounded by stray dogs and bitten on his ear. The following day, Dineshbhai Vasava, a member of Kosamba Gram Panchayat, was attacked by four to five dogs while returning home from the market on his bike at night. The attack caused him to fall, sustaining bite injuries below the knee on his left leg. Vasava was initially treated at the local CHC and later transferred to Bharuch, where his condition is now stable.

Another resident, Sureshbhai Bhairavsingh Vasava, also suffered bite injuries on his hands and legs. Reports indicate that several other residents across different areas of the village, including Muslim Phalia, Idgah Phalia, Dawoodi Nagari, and Single Phalia, were similarly attacked.

In response, Kosamba village Sarpanch Yasmeen Dawooji has written to the District Development Officer and the local veterinary department, urging immediate action to control the stray dog menace.

Pavi-Jetpur: In a similar development, a rabid black dog created terror in the main area of Pavi-Jetpur, seriously injuring five people and spreading fear across the town and nearby villages.

The incident occurred near the town gate around 1:30 pm, when Shabanaben Yusukbhai Khatri, on her way to her shop, was attacked on her leg, causing severe bleeding. She was immediately taken to the government hospital for treatment.

The same dog attacked four other people. At the bus stand, it first bit an unidentified person, then grabbed Sangeetaben Sanjaybhai Rathwa by the leg and knocked her to the ground, leaving her seriously injured. Two other men were also bitten by the rabid dog.

Locals reported that the dog is believed to be rabid and has been carrying out deadly attacks on people. Following these incidents, residents and visitors from nearby villages are living in fear, affecting business and daily activities in Pavi-Jetpur. DeshGujarat
