Railway Minister to Flag Off Gujarat’s First Amrit Bharat Train on September 27

Surat: Gujarat is set to get its first Amrit Bharat train, connecting Udhna in Surat with Brahmapur in Odisha. The train will be formally flagged off by Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav at Udhna Railway Station on Saturday, September 27.

The daily non-AC sleeper service will depart from Udhna at 7:10 am and reach Brahmapur at 1:55 pm the following day, completing the journey in approximately 33 hours. On the return leg, the train will leave Brahmapur at 11:45 pm and arrive at Udhna at 8:45 am two days later.

The train will halt at several key stations, including Palghar, Nagpur, Lakholi, and Titlagarh, providing better connectivity for passengers along the route.

The launch of this service comes as a major relief for the large Odia community residing in Surat. With no direct train to Odisha until now, residents often faced difficulties traveling back home during festivals or for business purposes. The demand for a direct connection had been long-standing, and the new train is expected to ease travel significantly.

A formal inauguration program has been scheduled at Udhna Railway Station between 10:00 am and 10:30 am on Saturday. Preparations are underway, and senior officials, including the DRM of Mumbai Division, have already visited the station for inspection. DeshGujarat
