Gujarat Sees Widespread Rainfall on First Day of Navratri up to 3.03 Inches

Gandhinagar: On the auspicious first day of Navratri, Monday, September 22, 2025, widespread rainfall was recorded across 48 talukas in Gujarat. The downpour brought relief from the recent warm spell, with some areas receiving over an inch of rain.

According to data released by the State Emergency Operation Center in Gandhinagar, the rainfall was recorded between 6:00 AM and 12:00 AM on September 22-23.

Talukas with Over One Inch of Rainfall:

Several talukas, primarily in the Ahmedabad district, experienced significant rainfall exceeding one inch. Mandal taluka in Ahmedabad district recorded the highest rainfall at 3.03 inches (77 mm). Other talukas in the district that received more than an inch of rain include Detroj-Rampura with 2.87 inches (73 mm), Viramgam with 1.93 inches (49 mm), Sanand with 1.46 inches (37 mm), Ahmedabad City with 1.34 inches (34 mm), and Daskroi with 1.1 inches (28 mm).

Talukas with Over Half an Inch of Rainfall:

In addition to the above, a number of other talukas received more than half an inch of rain. These include:

  • Ahmedabad District: Dholka (0.98 inches), Bavla (0.94 inches), Dhandhuka (0.91 inches), and Dholera (0.87 inches).
  • Kachchh District: Lakhpat (0.83 inches), Rapar (0.75 inches), Bhachau (0.71 inches), and three talukas—Anjar, Bhuj, and Nakhatrana—each recording 0.67 inches. Other talukas in Kutch with over half an inch of rain were Abdasa (0.67 inches), Mandvi (0.55 inches), Mundra (0.51 inches), and Gandhidham (0.51 inches).
