Garba enthusiasts chant ‘Refund … Refund’ slogans in United Way Vadodara due to muddy ground
September 23, 2025
Vadodara: A large group of Garba enthusiast gathered next to the centre stage of United Way garba ground in the city on the first night of Navratri and shouted ‘refund … refund’ slogans, as they found the ground of Navratri muddy in parts. However later, the Garba session went on smoothly.
Like every year, thousands of Garba enthusiasts reached United Way Garba ground but found that the ground was in parts so muddy that doing Garba was not possible smoothly. Major portion of ground therefore was seen empty. While in other portions of the ground, the Garba players were seen not doing Garba but standing in groups.
Significant number of Garba players however continued to do Garba even over muddy surface, but in groups, and not like Vadodara’s trademark full-round style.
In viral videos, it can be seen, that the youths who have spent thousands of Rupees for season passes of United Way garba event were complaining about the situation of ground and poor arrangements by organizers. They shouted slogans and demanded refund of their money.
It’s worth noting that due to pre-Navratri showers, the ground had witnessed water-logging, just a day before Navratri. Fortunately on the first day of Navratri, the city has not witnessed any rain. In various viral videos, Garba enthusiasts can be seen describing the Garba event of United Way as Mud Spa rather than Navratri garba event. DeshGujarat
