IMD issues yellow alert for two districts of Gujarat; predicts heavy rain for 24 hours

Surat: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Surat and Bharuch, predicting heavy rains in isolated places of these districts during the next 24 hours.
In its latest bulletin, the IMD said, “Heavy rains are very likely at isolated places in the districts of Gujarat region, namely Bharuch and Surat.”
Meanwhile, other districts may receive light thunderstorm with lightning and surface wind 30-40 kmph accompanied with light to moderate rain, except Kutch, Banaskantha, Mehsana, and Patan, where dry weather is likely to persist for the next four days, till September 24th.
On September 24, dry weather is likely in Kutch, Patan, Banaskantha, Mehsana, as well as in Sabarkantha, whereas other parts of the state might receive light rain.
On September 25, Morbi, Surendranagar, Ahmedabad, and Gandhinagar might also join the list of places where the possibility of rain will be negligible as the monsoon enters its withdrawal phase.
Furthermore, on September 26, light rain might occur only in Anand, Panchmahal, Dahod, Vadodara, Chhota Udepur, Narmada, Bharuch, Surat, Tapi, Navsari, Valsad, Daman, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Rajkot, Junagadh, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Gir Somnath, Botad, and Diu. Dry weather is very likely in the remaining districts of the state.
The IMD bulletin also stated that the line of withdrawal of the southwest monsoon continues to pass through 31°N/74°E, Bhatinda, Fatehabad, Pilani, Ajmer, Deesa, Bhuj, and 23°N/68°E. Conditions are becoming favorable for further withdrawal of the southwest monsoon from more parts of Gujarat, Rajasthan, Haryana, and Punjab, as well as some parts of Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir, during the next 2–3 days.
Furthermore, a north–south trough runs from the upper-air cyclonic circulation over northeast Uttar Pradesh and adjoining Bihar to west Vidarbha across Madhya Pradesh and extends up to 1.5 km above mean sea level. DeshGujarat
