Amit Shah to visit Surat for bhoomi poojan of ISKCON temple

Surat: Union Home Minister Amit Shah will visit Surat on the first day of Navratri to participate in the bhoomi poojan ceremony of the upcoming ISKCON temple at Anthem Circle in Kosmada. He will attend the event as the chief guest. The ceremony will begin at 11 am, followed by a felicitation programme and mahaprasad.

The grand ISKCON temple, to be built at a cost of ₹101 crore over 3.51 lakh square metres, is envisioned not only as a religious site but also as a hub for social and service-oriented activities. The temple complex will include a women’s employment centre, a healthcare clinic for the underprivileged, and a facility to provide free daily meals to the poor.

The temple is planned near Ring Road Canal on Iconic Road at Anthem Circle. A large number of Vaishnav devotees associated with ISKCON from across India and abroad are expected to attend the bhoomi poojan.
