30K people to welcome PM Modi during his roadshow in Bhavnagar on Sept 20

Bhavnagar: Preparations are in full swing in Bhavnagar ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the city on 20th September. During his visit, PM Modi is scheduled to inaugurate and announce multiple projects under the Gujarat Maritime Board, worth thousands of crores.

Upon arrival, the Prime Minister will participate in a roadshow from Bhavnagar Airport to Subhashnagar, with authorities ensuring meticulous arrangements and strict security protocols. Over 30,000 residents are expected to line the route to welcome the “son of the soil.” Following the roadshow, PM Modi will address a public meeting at Jawahar Maidan.

During the visit, several key initiatives related to maritime and port development are set to be announced:

  • MoUs worth ₹1.5 lakh crore for ports across India, including Alang in Bhavnagar.

  • Allocation of ₹75,000 crore for the Sagarmala Project 2.0.

  • ₹24,000 crore each for Ship Building Financial Assistance and Ship Building Development Schemes.

  • ₹25,000 crore allocation for the Maritime Development Fund.

  • ₹2,700 crore to be allocated for water metro development in Kolkata, Varanasi, and Patna.

  • ₹300 crore for ship repair facilities and ₹200 crore for freight village development in Varanasi.

  • ₹300 crore for an international cruise terminal at Indira Dock, Mumbai Port Authority.

  • ₹40,000 crore MoU for shipbuilding in Gujarat.

  • New port development in Visakhapatnam and Paradip with an annual capacity of 150 million tonnes, in partnership with Sagar Mala Finance Corporation Limited and the Odisha Government (₹21,500 crore contract).

  • Shipbuilding and repair projects in the Gulf of Kutch with Gujarat Maritime Board worth ₹2,400 crore.

  • In Bhavnagar, PM Modi will also inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for projects under Bhavnagar Urban Development Authority (BADA) and the Gujarat Government totaling ₹27,138 crore, including works worth ₹46 crore.
