Six dead as cargo ropeway collapses at Pavagadh

Pavagadh: A tragic accident occurred this afternoon at the famous pilgrimage site in Pavagadh when a cargo ropeway collapsed. The mishap was caused after the rope of the ropeway snapped, leading to the death of six people, as confirmed by Halol MLA Jaydrathsinh Parmar.
According to preliminary details, the incident occurred at around 3:30 pm. The deceased include two lift operators, two laborers, and two other individuals. It is learnt that four people have suffered injuries in the incident.

As soon as the accident was reported, local police and fire brigade teams rushed to the spot. Authorities are yet to confirm the exact number of injured persons. Fire brigade personnel are currently engaged in rescue operations and further investigation.
Meanwhile, the local administration is making efforts to bring the situation under control. It is noteworthy that due to inclement weather, the passenger ropeway had been shut, and the cargo ropeway was operating to transfer construction materials for ongoing development projects at the pilgrimage site.
