Ganesh Visarjan: City bus and BRTS services to remain suspended in Surat on Sept 6

Surat: Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) today announced that in view of Ganesh idol immersion (visarjan) processions scheduled across the city on September 6, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) has issued a notification directing suspension of bus operations.
According to the notification, idol immersion will take place at artificial lakes and natural water bodies, and processions will pass through major locations including Athwagate, SVNIT, Rahul Raj Mall, SK Nagar, old RTO T-point, Athwa overbridge, Sardar Tapi bridge, Adajan village, Star Bazaar, Pal RTO, Bhatha village, ONGC circle, Kribhco overbridge, Mora circle, L&T, Hazira, Dabholi bridge, Subhashbag circle, Dandi Road Jahangirabad, Parvat Patiya, Sosiyo circle, Bhatar overbridge, Panas canal, Vesu canal road, Rajhans crossroads, Abhva crossroads, Hazira highway SK Nagar overbridge, and several others.
Given the likelihood of disruption during idol immersion, all BRTS and city bus services in Surat will remain suspended on September 6. Citizens are advised to take note of this and make alternative travel arrangements.
Notably, under SMC, 367 BRTS buses run on 13 routes along India’s longest dedicated BRTS corridor of 108 km, while 385 city buses serve 45 routes, covering a total of 452 km daily. More than two lakh passengers use these services every day. DeshGujarat
