Chandra Grahan on Bhadarvi Poonam: Pooja-Aarti at Somnath Mandir to remain suspended
September 04, 2025
Prabhas Patan: A lunar eclipse is set to occur on September 7, 2025, falling on Bhadarvi Poonam. As per traditional scriptures, since the eclipse will also affect the Prabhas region, prescribed observances are required to be followed. Accordingly, at the Somnath Temple and all temples under the management of the Somnath Trust, midday puja rituals, aarti, and evening aarti, along with daily worship—including Ganga Jal Abhishek, Bilva Puja, Dhwaja Puja, Someshwar Mahapuja, Yajna, Rudrabhishek, and recitations—will remain suspended during the eclipse period.
The Trust has stated that chanting of mantras during an eclipse holds special spiritual significance. Normal temple worship and rituals will resume after the completion of the eclipse, starting from the morning of September 8, 2025.
