Rainfall data from across Gujarat; Halol tops the chart with nearly 10 inches rain

Panchmahal: Halol taluka in Panchmahals experienced extremely heavy rain this morning, receiving over 6.69 inches of rainfall between 6 AM and 8 AM. By 2 PM, Halol recorded a total of 9.76 inches, followed by Umreth in Anand with 4.72 inches and Borsad with 3.07 inches of rain.

Other talukas that recorded significant rainfall include Jambughoda and Ghoghamba in Panchmahals. Savli in Vadodara and Kamrej in Surat also saw more than 1.5 inches of downpour during the 8-hour period from 6 AM. A total of 74 talukas in the state have reported rainfall until 2 PM.

The heavy rain has caused difficulties for drivers on roads from the bus station to Pavagadh Road. The road to Pavagadh has been flooded and turned into mini ponds, making it challenging for devotees to reach Mahakali Mata for darshan.

Furthermore, four gates of Dev Dam in Panchmahals have been opened, releasing water into the Dev River at Waghodia. Villages along the riverbanks have been alerted. Due to the increased inflow into the dam, 7,623 cusecs of water have been released to maintain the reservoir’s level. DeshGujarat
