Surat: The Special Operations Group (SOG) of the city police has arrested a man for creating fake documents to conceal his identity from his Hindu wife’s family. The 24-year-old accused, Phoolfam Hasan Akbarali Shah, alias Honey Yadav (fake Hindu name), a native of Rampur, Uttar Pradesh, allegedly produced a fake Aadhaar card and bank passbook in a Hindu name to gain acceptance from his wife’s family.
According to police, the SOG received a tip-off that a Muslim man in Pandesara was living under a false Hindu identity. Acting on this information, the team raided a rented house in Ashapuri-2 and apprehended Hasan. During the search, officers seized genuine documents in the accused’s real name, including an Aadhaar card and PAN card, alongside the fake Hindu Aadhaar card, an SBI bank passbook, and a mobile phone. The total value of the seized items is estimated at ₹25,000.
During questioning, Hasan allegedly confessed that while working at a textile unit in Udhna BRC, he met the Hindu woman. Fearing that her family would not accept a Muslim groom, he created a fake Aadhaar card in a Hindu name and later married her at Mahadev Temple.
It has also come to light that this is Hasan’s second marriage. Earlier, he had married a Muslim woman, with whom he has a daughter. After his first wife passed away, he sent the daughter to live with his sister. Police have registered a case at Pandesara police station and initiated further investigation. DeshGujarat
