GSRTC to operate 5,500 extra buses for Ambaji Bhadarvi Poonam Mela

Ahmedabad: To facilitate passengers attending the Bhadarvi Poonam fair in Ambaji, the Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) will operate 5,500 extra buses across the state from September 1 to 7.

GSRTC will provide 24-hour GPS monitoring and deploy a team of 4,000 staff. Additionally, 20 special mini buses will be assigned for the Ambaji RTO from Gabbar, 15 buses for the Ambaji–Danta route, and 20 buses for the Danta–Palanpur route.

Extra buses will also run on routes connecting Gabbar, Danta, Palanpur, Ahmedabad, Vadodara, and Surat to Ambaji. The Ahmedabad division of GSRTC will operate an average of 180 buses daily to transport passengers from Ahmedabad’s Gita Mandir, Chandola, Gandhinagar, Dahegam, and Viramgam to Ambaji, and from Ambaji GMDC Ground back to Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, and Viramgam.

Last year, GSRTC served 10.92 lakh visitors at the Bhadarvi Poonam fair in Ambaji with 5,100 extra buses. The Ahmedabad division alone completed 982 trips for the fair, generating an income of ₹75 lakh for the corporation. DeshGujarat
