Kheda: A helicopter of the Indian Air Force rescued three individuals from the swollen Sabarmati River in Kheda district this evening.
According to officials, three people were reported stranded in the river near Kodariyapura, close to Dharoda village, earlier in the day. The stranded individuals were identified as Dhanjibhai Ramabhai Devipujak (55) of Dharoda, Mangabhai Khodabhai Thakor (50) of Kodariya, and Puriben Mangabhai Thakor (48) of Kodariya. The information was conveyed to the authorities by the village sarpanch, after which the administration launched a rescue operation.
As the strong current made it difficult to cover the 1.2 km stretch using a motorboat, the administration decided to conduct an airlift. Around 6:00 pm, an Air Force helicopter airlifted all three and brought them to safety. Deshujarat
