CG Semi to inaugurate its OSAT facility in Sanand on August 28

Sanand: CG Semi is set to inaugurate its advanced OSAT (Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test) facility in Sanand on Thursday, August 28, 2025. The event, titled Prarambh, marks a major milestone in India’s semiconductor journey and reinforces Gujarat’s position as a hub for high-tech manufacturing.

Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel, and CG Power Vice-Chairman Vellayan Subbiah will attend the ceremony. The program includes traditional proceedings, keynote addresses, unveiling of a commemorative plaque, and a ribbon-cutting at the production line, officially commencing operations at the facility.

The foundation stone for the facility was laid in March 2024. It is being built on about 28 acres with an investment of ₹7,600 crore over five years. The plant is designed to manufacture a wide range of products, from legacy packages such as QFN and QFP to advanced packages like FC BGA and FC CSP. These will serve industries including automotive, consumer, industrial, and 5G, with the capacity to scale production up to 1.5 crore units per day.

The project is expected to generate employment for nearly 5,000 people, creating significant opportunities for local communities. DeshGujarat
