Traffic Diversion Announced in Gandhinagar for Metro Rail Work
August 19, 2025
Gandhinagar: The Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation Limited has begun metro rail construction work in Gandhinagar, prompting traffic diversions to ensure smooth operations and public safety.
In an official notification, Additional District Magistrate N.R. Sharma announced that the road from K-Road (near Sector 14/15 Sai Corner) to Gandhinagar Railway Station (Sector 14) will remain closed to all vehicular traffic for three months.
The restriction will be in effect from 6:00 a.m. on July 25 until midnight on October 23. During this period, vehicles will not be allowed to pass through the road outside Dandi Kutir, which leads directly to the railway station.
However, an alternate entry route towards Gandhinagar Railway Station will remain open. Motorists can use the road located slightly ahead of the Sector 14/15 corner or take the Mahatma Mandir ATM crossroads route via Dandi Kutir to reach the station.
Authorities have cautioned that violation of these traffic regulations will invite legal action. The restrictions have been enforced to facilitate metro rail project work and to ensure public safety. Citizens have been urged to cooperate and make use of the alternative routes to avoid inconvenience. DeshGujarat
