PM Modi releases 20th PM-KISAN instalment; 52.16 lakh Gujarat farmer families get over ₹1,118 crore

Gandhinagar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the 20th instalment of the PM-KISAN Samman Nidhi Yojana from Kashi, Uttar Pradesh. Under this instalment, more than 52.16 lakh farmer families in Gujarat received assistance of over ₹1,118 crore directly into their bank accounts through DBT.

On this occasion, a state-level “PM-KISAN Utsav Diwas” programme was organised in Gandhinagar in the presence of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. Over three lakh farmers across Gujarat watched the live broadcast of the Prime Minister’s address from various locations, along with the Chief Minister and other members of the state cabinet.

Recalling the launch of the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi in 2019, Shri Modi noted that some major opposition parties were spreading rumours at the time — claiming that payments would stop after elections or suggesting that the transferred money would be taken back. He remarked that this reflects the true nature of the opposition, which seeks only to mislead farmers and the people of the country. Asking whether even a single installment had ever been stopped, the Prime Minister asserted that the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi has continued uninterrupted. To date, he mentioned that ₹3.75 lakh crore has been transferred directly into farmers’ accounts.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has shown the world how swiftly and effectively welfare initiatives for farmers and the public can be implemented with the spirit of public service and the right intent. He added that the Prime Minister has identified GYAN — Garib (poor), Annadata (farmers), Yuva (youth), and Nari Shakti (women empowerment) — as the four pillars of Viksit Bharat, launching numerous welfare schemes to empower them.

The Chief Minister further stated that under the leadership of the Prime Minister, the past decade has witnessed the creation of a robust and accessible ecosystem for farmers, covering every stage from seed to market. Additionally, the budget allocation for the agriculture sector has increased fivefold. Over the past 11 years, 25 crore Soil Health Cards have been distributed, and significant progress has been made in promoting modern agriculture and farm mechanisation.

Expressing gratitude to the Prime Minister on behalf of the farmers, the Chief Minister noted that the newly approved “PM Dhan Dhanya Krishi Yojana” aims to enhance productivity in 100 districts across the country with low agricultural output. In addition, the “Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sampada Yojana” has also been approved, further strengthening the government’s commitment to holistic agricultural development.

Notably, under the PM-KISAN scheme, ₹3.69 lakh crore has been disbursed through 19 instalments to more than 11 crore farmer families across India. Correspondingly, in Gujarat, beneficiary farmer families have received direct assistance of over ₹19,993 crore credited to their bank accounts through these 19 instalments. DeshGujarat
