Petronet LNG Plans ₹12,000 Crore Loan to Expand Dahej Plant: Report

Dahej: Petronet LNG, India’s top natural gas importer, announced plans on Monday to secure a ₹12,000 crore loan to help fund the expansion of its petrochemical facility in Dahej, Gujarat, according to a Reuters report.

In an analyst call, Saurav Mitra, the company’s Director Finance and CEO, shared that the Dahej plant is expected to cost around ₹20,685 crore to build. This project will account for the majority of Petronet LNG’s planned capital expenditure of ₹30,000 crore over the coming years.

Mitra also noted that the firm’s capital spending for FY27 is projected to exceed the estimated ₹5,000 crore for FY26.

Separately, the company’s Board recently approved setting up a new LNG import terminal in Odisha with a capacity of five million tonnes per annum, at an estimated cost of ₹6,350 crore. DeshGujarat
