Speaking about the bridge slab incident near Mangrol, Executive Engineer of the Junagadh District Road Building Department (Panchayat), Abhishek Gohil, officially stated that the bridge near Antroli was declared dilapidated after inspection by department officials. As the slab was found to be unsafe, demolition work was initiated using a breaker machine. During the process, a large part of the slab collapsed. He also confirmed that no injuries or casualties occurred during the incident.
Collector Anilkumar Ranavasia and officials from the construction department have rushed to the site for inspection.
The Collector stated that, for public safety, necessary measures are being taken by inspecting structurally weak bridges across the district. He reiterated that the bridge near Mangrol was not a case of sudden collapse, but a planned demolition. DeshGujarat
