Stray cattle menace: Mini bus en route to Dwarka collides with cows, 1 woman dead

Veraval: A mini bus carrying a family from Veraval to Dwarka for pilgrimage overturned near Kolikhada during the night after hitting cows, resulting in the death of an elderly woman and injuries to 17 others. Two cows were also seriously injured in the incident.
According to a complaint filed by Hitesh Narshibhai Bhesla (41), a resident of Krishnanagar in Veraval and a fisherman by profession, he and 17 members of his in-laws’ family had rented a mini bus from Bhalka around 1:30 am to visit Dwarka. The bus was driven by Manish Punjabhai Babariya, a driver from Veraval.
At around 3:30 am, when the bus was near Kolikhada in Porbandar district, four cows suddenly crossed the road. The bus collided with them and overturned. All passengers sustained minor injuries and were taken to Porbandar Civil Hospital via 108 emergency services.
However, Hitesh’s mother-in-law, Ratanben alias Taraben Babubhai Parmar (65), succumbed to the serious injuries sustained in the accident. Two of the cows involved were also seriously injured.
Following the incident, Hiteshbhai filed a complaint against the bus driver, Manish Punjabhai Babariya. Police have launched a further investigation into the matter. DeshGujarat
