Gujarat to see light to moderate rain for next 48 hours; heavy showers likely from July 12

Surat: After weeks of lashing the parts of the state with heavy downpour, the clouds have softened for now in Gujarat, as only light to moderate rain is likely to occur in the state over the next 48 hours.
As per the IMD’s latest forecast, heavy rain might return to some places from July 12th. The bulletin states that on Saturday, Navsari, Valsad, and Daman & Dadra Nagar Haveli are expected to receive heavy rain.
On July 13th, heavy rains are very likely in Aravalli, Dahod, Mahisagar, Navsari, Valsad, Daman, Dadra Nagar Haveli, Amreli, and Bhavnagar.
On July 14th, heavy rains are very likely at isolated places in the districts of the Gujarat region: Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Aravalli, Panchmahal, Dahod, Mahisagar, and Chhota Udepur.
On July 15th, heavy rains are very likely at isolated places in the districts of the Gujarat region: Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Aravalli, Dahod, and Mahisagar.
On July 16th, heavy rains are very likely at isolated places in the districts of the Gujarat region: Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, and Aravalli.
As per the bulletin, the monsoon trough at mean sea level now passes through Suratgarh, Bhiwani, Aligarh, Banda, Daltonganj, the center of the low-pressure area over South Jharkhand & neighbourhood, Digha, and thence southeastwards to the northeast Bay of Bengal.
The trough from the northeast Arabian Sea to the cyclonic circulation over South Jharkhand & neighbourhood across the South Gujarat region, North Madhya Maharashtra, South Madhya Pradesh, and North Chhattisgarh—between 4.5 and 7.6 km above mean sea level—persists.
