Gujarat govt allocates ₹6 crore for GPS mapping, digitalization of Waqf Board properties

Gandhinagar: Law Minister Rushikesh Patel today allocated ₹6 crore for GPS mapping, surveying, and digitalization of properties under the Waqf Board in Gujarat.
Of the total amount, ₹2 crore has been allocated for GPS mapping of Waqf Board properties, ₹2 crore for survey work, and ₹2 crore for the development of the Waqf Board website and digitalization process.
The initiative is expected to bring the following outcomes:
• Accurate identification of Waqf properties
• Registration of only legitimate properties
• Resolution of unnecessary disputes
• Elimination of illegal encroachments
This effort is being intensified by the Gujarat Government in line with various legal provisions under the Ummeed (Unified Waqf Management, Empowerment, Efficiency and Development) Act-2025, recently introduced by the Central Government. DeshGujarat
