ACB Gujarat nabs Govt approved License Surveyor of DLIR Office Vadaj, two Middlemen in Bribery Trap

Ahmedabad:  Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) successfully trapped three individuals, including a government-approved licensed surveyor, in a bribery case involving ₹5 lakh related to land repair work. The operation, conducted on Friday, June 21, 2025, near the Honda Showroom on the left side of Bopal Ambli Crossroads in Ahmedabad, led to the recovery of the entire bribe amount.

The investigation was initiated after a vigilant citizen approached the ACB, reporting a demand for a bribe. According to the complainant, they had contacted Gautam Bharatbhai Yagnik, a Government Approved Licensed Surveyor attached to the DILR Office in Bhimjipura, Vadaj, Ahmedabad, to facilitate KJP correction task for the complainant’s sister’s land.

Yagnik allegedly informed the complainant that the transaction for the KJP updation would require a payment at the DILR office, eventually demanding a bribe of ₹5,00,000. Unwilling to pay the illegal gratification, the complainant alerted the ACB.

Accused no. 1, Gautam Yagnik, instructed the complainant to hand over the bribe money to accused no. 2, Navgansinh Khumansinh Dodia, a land broker. Subsequently, the complainant met with Dodia.

It is reported that Navgansinh Dodia and accused no. 3, Manish Dhirubhai Pagi, also a land broker, engaged in a purposeful conversation with the complainant before accepting the bribe amount of ₹5,00,000. The ACB stated that all three accused acted in collusion to commit the crime.

The operation was carried out by the Gandhinagar ACB Post Office team. Police Inspector  M.M. Solanki served as the Trapping Officer, ably assisted by Police Inspector D.A. Chaudhary. The entire operation was conducted under the close supervision of A.K. Parmar, Assistant Director, Gandhinagar ACB Unit. DeshGujarat
