Gujarat Police nabs 200+ illegal Bangladeshis in 100 hours

Gandhinagar: Gujarat Police has nabbed around 200 illegal Bangladeshi immigrants from across the state and is carrying out the deportation process for these individuals who had been living in the state illegally.
The Director General of Police, Gujarat, Vikas Sahay, in an X post said, “In the last 100 hours, more than 200 illegal Bangladeshis have been caught by Gujarat Police. Further legal action for deportation is under progress.”
Joint Commissioner Raghevendra Vats confirmed the ongoing crackdown and said, “Surat Police arrested 119 illegal Bangladeshi migrants during raids in multiple city areas. Interrogations confirmed their nationality, and biometric checks are planned to prevent re-entry”
It is noteworthy that among these 200, 44 individuals were arrested by the Special Operations Group (SOG) of Bharuch Police from Bharuch city, Ankleshwar city, and the Ankleshwar GIDC area. DeshGujarat
