June 18, 2025
Ahmedabad: An AI (Artificial Intelligence)-generated short film about the tragic Air India plane crash is going viral on YouTube and social media, depicting the severity and aftermath of the accident.
On June 12, Air India flight AI 171, a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft with 242 passengers and crew on board, en route to Gatwick Airport, London, crashed shortly after takeoff from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International (SVPI) Airport. The aircraft struck the BJ Medical College hostel and mess campus, leaving several locals and doctors dead or injured. Only one British citizen of Indian origin survived the crash, making it one of the worst air tragedies the city has ever witnessed.
The AI short film narrates the story of a woman from Bharuch who arrived just 10 minutes late and was not allowed to check in. She had to return—unknowingly escaping the fate of those on board the ill-fated flight. The short film also shows how the sole survivor emerged from the wreckage of the plane as it went up in a fireball.
The short film has been created by AuraPlay, an OTT platform streaming GenAI-powered films, web series, audio series, and podcasts. It has garnered over 6 lakh views on YouTube and is also being widely shared on social media platforms. DeshGujarat
