May 29, 2025
The Gujarat government has launched the “Gujarat Karmayogi Swasthya Suraksha Yojana” for All India Services (AIS) officers, state government officers, employees, and pensioners. Under this scheme, eligible personnel will receive cashless medical treatment of up to ₹10 lakh per family through the “G” category card issued under the PMJAY scheme.
The Health Department today issued detailed instructions and guidelines for employees, pensioners, and their eligible family members wishing to avail themselves of the benefits under this scheme.
Accordingly, to receive benefits under the Gujarat Karmayogi Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (Cashless Health Benefit Package), a PMJAY scheme card is mandatory. The responsibility of issuing these cards has been entrusted to the State Health Agency (SHA).

In the case of state government officers, employees, and pensioners, the definition of “family” shall be as per the Gujarat State Services (Medical Treatment) Rules, 2015. For AIS officers, the definition shall be as per the AIS (Medical Attendance) Rules, 1954. A certificate showing the details of eligible dependent family members must be provided.
This certificate must be issued in the prescribed format by the head of the office where the concerned employee is currently serving.
For AIS and state government pensioners, this certificate must be issued by the District Treasury Officer/Sub-Treasury Officer/Pension Payment Officer/Pay and Accounts Officer of the district from which the pension is drawn. Alternatively, it can be issued by the head of the office from which the person retired.
To facilitate E-KYC, the Aadhaar number of each family member must also be provided.
In the case of fixed-pay employees, if service is terminated without regular appointment, or if any officer/employee resigns, leaves the service, or is terminated due to disciplinary action and is not eligible for pension under applicable rules, the head of the last serving office must promptly inform SHA.
Based on this, the SHA will remove the names of such individuals and their family members from the list of beneficiaries under the PMJAY scheme. DeshGujarat
