PM Modi to inaugurate 5 Amrit Bharat railway stations in Vadodara division on May 22

Vadodara: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually inaugurate five newly redeveloped railway stations under the Vadodara division of Western Railway on Thursday, May 22, as part of the nationwide rollout of over 100 modernised stations under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme (ABSS). Introduced two years ago, the ABSS seeks to transform over 1,300 stations across India into modern travel hubs with advanced passenger facilities and architecture that highlights local culture and heritage.

The five stations in the Vadodara division, Dakor, Karamsad, Derol, Kosamba, and Utran, have been upgraded with an emphasis on sustainability, regional identity, and commuter convenience. Dakor Station, a key access point for devotees visiting the Shree Ranchhodrai Temple, now features eco-friendly infrastructure tailored to pilgrims. Karamsad Station pays homage to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, with an art wall and dedicated space in his memory. Derol Station incorporates temple-style architecture reflecting the spiritual essence of nearby Pavagadh. Meanwhile, Utran Station caters to the expanding Surat metro area, offering modern, accessible infrastructure for daily commuters. DeshGujarat
