Former dean held in bribe case, remanded to ACB custody till April 11

Ahmedabad: The Gujarat Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested Dr. Girishkumar Jethalal Parmar, a retired dean of the Dental Department at the Government Dental College & Hospital in Ahmedabad, in connection with a bribery case. Parmar, 63, was produced before the court today and has been remanded to police custody till 4:00 PM on April 11, 2025.
Parmar, a former senior official at the Civil Hospital campus in Asarva, served as dean until less than two years ago. He has been booked under Sections 7, 12, 13(1), and 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2018. The case has been registered under ACB Ahmedabad City Post Office Gur No. 11/2025. Further investigation is underway.
Dr. Girish Parmar was nabbed by the ACB for acting as a middleman who allegedly accepted an advance installment of ₹15 lakh out of a total demanded bribe of ₹30 lakh on behalf of Dinesh Parmar, Additional Secretary of the Investigation Branch in the Department of Health, Government of Gujarat.
