Gujarat to expand 112 ERSS helpline statewide
March 26, 2025
Gandhinagar: The Gujarat government announced on Tuesday that the 112 Emergency Response Support System (ERSS), initially launched in seven districts as a unified contact point for emergency services, will soon be extended across the state. Since its rollout in 2019, the helpline has handled 1.49 crore calls.
To enhance accessibility, the government is setting up an integrated control and command center for real-time emergency response monitoring at both state and district levels. The system consolidates helplines for police, fire, health, women and child development, and disaster management services. Initially introduced in Gir-Somnath, Devbhumi Dwarka, Morbi, Chhota Udepur, Botad, Aravalli, and Mahisagar, the service is now set for statewide expansion.
Additionally, 500 Jan Rakshak PCR vans will be deployed, and personnel, including police officers, are receiving specialized training in emergency response. So far, 69,477 cases have received immediate assistance, with an average police response time of 26 minutes and 59 seconds in the operational districts. DeshGujarat
