ACB Gujarat book former senior clerk in DA case

Surendranagar: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Police Station, Surendranagar, has filed a disproportionate assets case against Rajeshbhai Devmurari, former Senior Clerk (In-charge Deputy Accountant), who was previously posted at the Office of the Executive Engineer, Saurashtra Branch Canal Division No. 2/1, Dhrangadhra.
The accused, Rajeshbhai Harkishanbhai Devmurari (61), formerly a Senior Clerk (In-charge Deputy Accountant), Class-3, at the Executive Engineer’s Office, Dhrangadhra, has been investigated for disproportionate assets. Based on an analysis of documentary evidence, bank account details, financial transactions, and official records from April 1, 2012, to August 31, 2019, the Financial Advisor of ACB has found prima facie evidence of corruption.
It has been established that the accused misused his official position, engaged in corrupt practices, and illegally acquired wealth. He obtained money through corrupt means and invested it in properties under his own name. As a result, he amassed disproportionate assets amounting to ₹36,39,624/- (Thirty-six lakh thirty-nine thousand six hundred and twenty-four), which is 65.33% more than his legal income.
Following this investigation, a case has been registered under Section 13(1)(E) and Section 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, as well as Section 13(1)(B) and Section 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act (Amendment 2018). Further investigation is ongoing. DeshGujarat
