33 illegal immigrants of Gujarat origin among 112 deportees on third US flight

Ahmedabad: A third group of 112 illegal Indian immigrants deported from the United States of America (USA) arrived at Amritsar Airport on a US military aircraft on Sunday night. Among these 112 individuals, 33 hail from Gujarat. Of these, 3 individuals arrived at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in the city this morning and were then escorted to their hometowns by the police. Meanwhile, 30 others arrived at the city airport at around 2 pm.

This is the third batch of deportees, following the arrival of 104 on the first flight on February 4th, and another flight carrying 116 immigrants that arrived on Saturday.
It is reported that among the 112 immigrants who landed on Sunday, 44 are from Haryana, 33 are from Gujarat, 31 are from Punjab, two are from Uttar Pradesh, and one each is from Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh.
According to reports, the deportations are set to continue every two weeks until all illegal immigrants are repatriated, as part of US President Donald Trump’s ongoing effort to tackle illegal migration. DeshGujarat
