ACB Gujarat nabs PSI for accepting ₹1 lakh bribe

Halol: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Gujarat today nabbed Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) Mehulkumar Rameshbhai Bharwad of Halol Rural Police Station for accepting a bribe of ₹1 lakh.
The accused had allegedly demanded ₹2.5 lakh from a complainant, who was declared wanted in a criminal case, in exchange for not harassing or assaulting him.
The complainant arranged ₹1 lakh, after which the accused asked him to bring the amount. However, the complainant approached the ACB and filed a complaint. Acting on the complaint, the ACB laid a trap at Halol Rural Police Station. During the operation, the PSI accepted ₹1 lakh from the complainant and was caught red-handed.
